Texas State Fair's newest treat!

Forget fried butter, just look at these cheeks! We could charge 10 coupons for a chance to come up and bite these cheeks!DSC_0259.JPG

Smile factory

It's hard for me to think of any words to describe the feeling you get when you daughter looks at you and smiles. DSC_0004.JPG

So much to talk about, so little time

Where do I begin? Life has been so fast and hectic lately that it's hard to find time to sit in front of the computer and write down my thoughts. This will be a longer post than normal since I have so much to cram in.

Since my last post Hailey passed the 2 month mark and I can already tell she is growing up too fast. At her 2 month check up she weighed 10lbs./2oz. and gained a few more inches. It also happened to be the visit where she would receive her first round of shots. Frankie wasn't too worried but I knew it was going to be emotional for me and Hailey. Our nurse was so sweet and reassuring but I was still a little nervous for Hailey.

The calm before the storm. Such a sweet girl.IMG_0997.jpg

Prepping for the shot.IMG_1001.jpgNow this is where even Frankie starts to get a little upset at the site of his little girl crying. I could tell he wanted to pick her up so badly and take her pain away.IMG_1005.jpgMom's there to make her feel all better.IMG_1006.jpg

I only had to work an half-day after the doctor's visit so rather than drive to daycare and drop her off, I decided to let Hailey come with me to work so my co-workers could finally meet her.

She was a big hit with Kobi.DSC_0435.JPG

I think the shots made Hailey a bit sleepy. She fell asleep in Mary's arms.DSC_0439.JPGThe good news that came out of the doctor's visit was that Hailey could now go the whole night without us having to wake her up to feed her. No more 2:00 feedings...yay!

Hailey seems to like it too. And she loves her Miracle Blanket. A must-have for newborns. Thanks again Amie!DSC_0491.JPG

Now Saturday mornings we can sleep in a little. I went to go get her a bottle and when I came back, Frankie already has her watching ESPN.DSC_0478.JPGFrankie had a tee time scheduled so I thought it would be a good chance for me to take Hailey on her first trip to the mall. I think I may be in trouble as it was my goal to find some new work clothes for me but I ended up buying Hailey 12 new outfit for next summer. DSC_0468.JPGHailey just got out of the bath and Frankie thought her head might be a little cold so we got out her cap she wore in the hospital. After she ate she was out like a light.DSC_0520.JPGI know it's hard to tell from the picture but Hailey likes to coo and smile whenever we play together. She melts our hearts every time. People tell Frankie to watch out not to let her wrap him around her finger but I think she already has.IMG_1062.jpg

Hailey's first day of school!

I's finally here. Hailey's first day of school. I must admit I was pretty teary-eyed when we dropped her off but the staff was so supportive. Ms. Betty assured us everything would be ok and Hailey seemed to take a liking to her right away.

Hailey picked out her outfit and had it laying out all night in anticipation of her first day. You can tell she was a little nervous knowing she was going to be away from mom so long.DSC_0385.JPG

Here we are. Time to go to class.DSC_0417.JPG

Here's Ms. Betty. Everyone calls her Grandma.DSC_0409.JPGHere's her bed. #6. It's so bright and colorful we know she'll have a great time.DSC_0411.JPGFrankie and I missed her so much that he couldn't wait so he went and picked her up early. Ms. Betty said she was an angel. She must have had a fun day as you can see from this picture, she was all tuckered out.DSC_0422.JPG

So much catching up to do

We've been so busy spending time with Hailey I slacked off on my updates but that will all change soon. I begrudgingly head back to work tomorrow and I can already tell it's not going to be easy. The only thing that makes it easier is that we absolutley love her new school, http://www.willowbendlearningcenter.com/. I wanted so badly to have Hailey and Taylor go to school together but after thinking it over for a long time we thought it be best she go to a school closer to home. Frankie can now pick her up and take as needed and in the event she is fussy, the commute won't be as long. Today's post will be a collection of some of our favorite photos over the last few weeks. I told Frankie the other night I can already tell I want another one. =)

Hailey's big brothers are always ready to protect her.DSC_0127.JPG

Hailey's first Mexican restaurant

Allison and I decided we deserved a lunch date so I took the girls to Herrera's off of Inwood near Harry Hines. It was the first time for the both of them and they loved it. Hailey loved the chips and salsa and was unable to finish her plate. Looks like she is throwing in the towel.

No mas! I'm full!

Sleeping beauty

I see Hailey loves sleeping as much as I do. Fortunately the swaddling (thanks Amie) is working and she's sleeping close to 4 hours at night before we have to get up and feed her. But when she wakes, you better be ready with the bottle. She goes from 0 to 60 in no time at all and lets you know that there better be food in her mouth in a hurry. DSC_0913.JPG

We had a great time at Lisa's with all of the family around. It was nice to see the girles one last time as well as chat with Nick via Skype.DSC_0765.JPG
